St. Stephen, N.B. – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
Resilient, diversified, prosperous communities are the foundation of strong inclusive regions. The Government of Canada recognizes that strong regions are the building blocks of a strong country.
With support from the Government of Canada, Future St. Stephen will launch a targeted marketing campaign to promote the organization’s population growth strategy and hire a professional to perform a community development planning exercise.
Karen Ludwig, Member of Parliament for New Brunswick Southwest, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), joined Future St. Stephen officials today for the announcement.
The Government of Canada is providing Future St. Stephen with a non-repayable contribution of $119,500 through ACOA’s Business Development Program for this initiative.
This initiative builds on the Government of Canada’s commitment to drive economic growth in Atlantic Canada through the Atlantic Growth Strategy, which supports strategic investments that build on the region’s competitive advantages, such as its strong export potential, growing innovation ecosystem, and skilled workforce.
“The Government of Canada knows the importance of investing in initiatives that contribute to the vibrancy of communities and help enhance the local economy by improving their development capacity.
