St. Stephen – Karen Ludwig, Member of Parliament for New Brunswick Southwest, announced funding today for seniors’ groups in her riding. The New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) is a federal grants and contributions program that supports projects led or inspired by seniors who make a difference in the lives of others and their communities.
“This innovative program enhances seniors’ social well-being and enables them to maintain social ties and share their knowledge, skills and experience with others,” said MP Ludwig. “These community programs encourage seniors to pursue active lifestyles and have a leading role in activities that inspire goodwill, sharing and fellowship.”
The following organizations will receive funding for their projects:
Jemseg Lions Club ($13,708)
Greenwich Recreation Association Inc. ($10,218)
St. Croix Wellness and Renewal Centre for the Welln “us” 50 Plus ($24,700)
Saint James Presbyterian Church, Hanwell for The A.C.T.S. Project for Seniors ($25,000)
“These projects contribute to healthy, vibrant and strong communities in New Brunswick Southwest,” added Ludwig.
